Harmonising Timber Floors with Lime Wash - Hawthorn

Introduction - Mixed timber species lime wash

At MyFlooring, we recently completed a project to harmonise a property's timber flooring that had undergone several upgrades and renovations. The property featured three different types of timber, and our goal was to create a cohesive look throughout by applying a slightly coloured lime wash.

Client Concerns and Our Solutions

The property had sections of Tassie Oak, Vic Ash, and newer Tassie Oak. The client wanted a uniform, harmonious design. We recommended a lime wash to blend the different timbers seamlessly.

The Outcome

The final result was a beautifully harmonised timber floor. The custom lime wash provided a unified look across the different timbers, and the water-based polyurethane in a matt finish added a sophisticated touch. The client was delighted with the transformation, appreciating the cohesive and elegant design.

Benefits of Bona Water-Based Polyurethane

  1. Eco-Friendly: Bona water-based polyurethane emits fewer VOCs, making it an environmentally friendly option.

  2. Durability: It provides a robust finish that can withstand heavy foot traffic and daily wear.

  3. Non-Yellowing: The clear finish does not yellow over time, maintaining the floor's original colour.

  4. Quick Drying: Faster drying times mean less disruption during the renovation process.
