Our Story; from 2003
MyFlooring is a family business built on two generations of passion and expertise. For the past 23 years, my father, Jason, has dedicated himself to the art of timber flooring. I'm Lucas, and after many years in a corporate job, I found my true calling working with my hands on something physical and real. This shared passion for craftsmanship gives us great pride, and we look forward to continuing our work together for many years to come.
About Our Services and Sustainability Practices
Our Commitment to Sustainability: At MyFlooring, we prioritize sustainability and eco-friendly practices. We use low-VOC finishes and stains to promote healthier indoor air quality. Our sanding and polishing processes are meticulously designed to remove the minimum amount of timber necessary, preserving the integrity and longevity of your floors. This careful approach reduces wear, conserves resources, and minimizes waste. By extending the life of your timber floors, we contribute to a more sustainable environment. We also advocate for the use of natural finishes like wax and oil, which are less harmful compared to traditional polyurethane finishes. These sustainable options enhance the beauty and durability of your timber floors while reducing the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Sanding and Finishing
We use advanced techniques to carefully sand the surface, removing imperfections while preserving as much of the original timber as possible. The saw dust is safely disposed through professional channels.
Liming and Staining
Instead of using harsh chemicals and agents to colour the timber floors, we use lime wash which is a water soluble product which can add colour and a slight layer of protection for the timber underneath.
This adjustment also encourages preserving timber instead of replacing it with a new product.
Bleaching
Like the liming process, we can remove the tannins in the timber; allowing a wide range of colours and finish options to be applied. This encourages outside thinking rather than removing and replacing darker hardwood timber. The bleach is also water soluble and safe to dispose in comparison to more traditional bleach products.

Oil / Wax Finishes
Oils and Wax finishes allows one to spot fix timber flooring, removing the once necessary process of re-sanding and re-coating the entire timber floor to remove damages. Oils and Wax finish products also generally have less VOC than polyurethane products found on the market today.
