These Terms and Conditions explain how MyFlooring works, what is included in our services, client responsibilities, payment terms, warranties, and important information to help ensure a smooth flooring project.

Terms and Conditions


MyFlooring Pty Ltd



These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by MyFlooring Pty Ltd unless otherwise agreed in writing. By accepting a quotation or engaging MyFlooring, the client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.


1. Scope of Services


MyFlooring provides professional timber floor sanding, preparation, colour treatments (if selected), and application of finishing systems in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer recommendations.

The scope of works is based on the information provided by the client at the time of quoting and may be adjusted if site conditions differ once work commences.

Unless specifically stated in writing, the following are not included:


  • Replacement of damaged or rotten boards

  • Gap filling between timber boards lengthwise

  • Structural or subfloor repairs

  • Painting, patching, or repairs to skirting boards or walls

  • Removal of heavy adhesives or residues

  • Furniture removal or reinstallation

  • Ongoing maintenance or future recoating


2. Quotations and Pricing


All quotations are based on approximate measurements and visible conditions at the time of quoting.

Final pricing may be adjusted following accurate on-site measurement or assessment once sanding has commenced, where actual conditions differ from the information provided.

Any variations outside the accepted scope of works will be discussed and approved prior to proceeding.


3. Booking, Deposits, and Payments


A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure a booking. Deposit amounts and payment stages will be outlined in the quotation.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • A deposit secures the scheduled booking

  • Progress or commencement payments may be required

  • The remaining balance is payable upon completion of works

Failure to make payments as agreed may result in delays, suspension of works, or additional costs.


If a job cannot commence as scheduled due to lack of preparation, cancellation, or access issues, MyFlooring reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee to cover lost time and costs.

If the client cancels the job without reasonable prior notice, MyFlooring reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of $360 or 10% of the total job price, whichever is higher, to cover scheduling, labour allocation, and lost booking opportunities.

Rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible.


4. Site Access and Client Responsibilities


The client is responsible for ensuring:

  • Clear and safe access to the work area

  • Floors are vacant and cleared of furniture and debris

  • Normal power supply and lighting are available

  • Reasonable parking access for equipment

  • Pets and occupants are kept clear of work areas

Delays or additional costs may apply if these conditions are not met.


5. Timber Characteristics and Natural Variation


Timber is a natural material. Variations in colour, grain, texture, and absorption of finishes are normal and expected.

Samples, photos, and previous works are provided as guides only. Exact colour or finish outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Movement such as expansion, contraction, gapping, or changes over time is a natural characteristic of timber flooring and not considered a defect.


6. Onsite Work and Finishing Expectations


Onsite sanding and finishing is a manual process and may result in:


  • Minor surface imperfections

  • Swirl or sanding marks consistent with onsite work

  • Minor marks to skirting boards or adjacent surfaces

  • Some level of dust despite professional dust extraction systems

These outcomes are considered normal and do not constitute defective workmanship.


7. Timeframes and Delays


Any timeframes provided are estimates only.

Project duration may be affected by:

  • Weather conditions

  • Drying and curing times

  • Site access issues

  • Unforeseen conditions

  • Variations to scope

MyFlooring will communicate any significant changes where reasonably possible.


8. Workmanship Warranty


MyFlooring offers a workmanship warranty in line with its published Workmanship Warranty Guideline.

The warranty covers defects arising from workmanship only and does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Damage from misuse, furniture, pets, footwear, or impact

  • Environmental factors such as moisture, heat, or sunlight

  • Timber movement or natural changes

  • Alterations or work carried out by others

  • Failure to follow maintenance guidelines

Warranty assessments are handled on a case-by-case basis.


9. Maintenance and Care


Proper care and maintenance are essential to the performance and longevity of timber floors.

Failure to follow provided or published maintenance guidelines may affect the appearance of the floor and any warranty considerations.


10. Cancellations and Scheduling Changes


If a job cannot commence as scheduled due to lack of preparation, cancellation, or access issues, MyFlooring reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee to cover lost time and costs.

Rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible.


11. Liability and Limitations


MyFlooring is not responsible for:

  • Consequential or indirect losses

  • Damage resulting from conditions outside its control

  • Pre-existing defects or hidden issues not visible prior to works

  • Adjacent areas not included in the scope of works

Liability is limited to the value of the services provided, to the extent permitted by law.


12. Australian Consumer Law


Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights available to consumers under Australian Consumer Law.


13. Updates to Terms


These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The version published on the MyFlooring website at the time of quotation acceptance will apply unless otherwise stated.


14. Governing Law


These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
